My Story

I am from East Brunswick, New Jersey, where I went to East Brunswick High School. In visiting Duke’s campus and doing more research on the school’s culture and the opportunities available, I was quickly intrigued by pursuing an engineering major while being steps away from one of the best liberal arts institutions in the world. That idea of getting a well-rounded education with excellent professors from every field and walk of life was something I came to value when deciding on where to apply.

I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I knew when deciding upon a major that hardware and product design was something I’ve been interested in since I was very young. My intuition for math and science, combined with my creative instincts for design and art, made mechanical engineering seem like a logical next step. The importance of electronics in modern technology then led me to pursue a minor in ECE, and these courses have effectively complimented what I’ve learned in my major.

My coursework in innovation and entrepreneurship fits well in to my longterm plans. I plan on ultimately joining the start-up world, likely in a mechanical design engineering / product design position. Down the road, I hope to start my own venture. Thus, the skills I have learned through the I&E courses and the individuals I've been lucky to meet will serve me well in my entrepreneurial pursuits.

I enjoy watching my favorite pro (and college) sports teams, where I’m a longtime suffering New York Jets fan and a more hopeful and positive Brooklyn Nets, Duke Basketball, and New York Yankee supporter. I also recently started reading more frequently in my free time, especially entrepreneurial books. I hope to add some novels and biographies to my list as well.

Something many don't know about me is I also enjoy drawing and sketching, but I am often hindered by being colorblind, which forces me to ask questions about colors to my peers!

The world is made whole by the people and animals that inhabit it. If I can help people in some way, whether it be improving the quality of life of a large group of individuals or improving society such that people not yet born can live more comfortably, I will have achieved my ultimate goal.
